Living With Multiple Sclerosis

Three years ago, my 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Contessa first showed symptoms at age three and doctors told us that maybe someday she would be diagnosed with MS. MS is a disease that effects the central nervous system. For some reason her body is attacking the mylien sheath that protects the nerve. When the nerve is damaged it cause problems such as vision problems, short term memory loss, and coordination. There are two types of MS, Contessa is diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS. This means she will go periods of feeling and looking well. Factors such as heat and stress will cause a relapse. Currently there is no cure for MS. We are using a daily injection called Copaxone that is to slow the progression of MS. Please take a few minutes to view the following clip to see how people with MS are often preceived as looking so good that they could not have a dibilitating disease. The Show Must Go On

New Single Page Layouts

For Christmas Contessa received Sing Star after playing it for hours at a Girl Scout Sleepover earlier in the month. We had such a good time singing along Christmas morning. We didn't sound as good as the pictures look.

At church, Contessa played the role of Mary. Now everyone at church calls her Mary.

This layout is from St. Nicholas Day this past December. Winston wanted the new Brett Favre jersey since football season began. Contessa received the last 2 books in the Twilight series. Who enjoyed the books more? her or me?

Hershey Park was one of my favorite summer get away places. I loved going to Chocolate World and riding through the big oven. I never got tired of the same tour year after year.
Each summer we would also go to Ocean City, Maryland. We would spend the day at the beach and pool and stroll the boardwalk at night. We always stayed at the BeachMark Motel. I wonder if it is still open?
