Too Cold To Go Outside

I was able to get out yesterday to work in the yard for a short time. A storm has blown in and dumped buckets of rain! And a cold front to remind us that it is winter. They are actually talking snow tonight. Unbelievable!!!
So after napping and doing a little bit of nothing I did get some scrapbooking done. Here are a few layouts to enjoy.

Walking home from the kid's bus stop each afternoon I enjoyed watching the trees turn bright colors.

These photos were taken at Lewdew Gardens in Maryland last summer with Nanou and Aunt Sophie.

My favorite layout from the weekend was inspired by a layout in the Feb./March 09 issue of Scrapbooks etc. As soon as I saw this layout, I gathered all my materials and set to work.
I was inspired by their Inspiration section using photos from "then" to scrapbook now.

A few more layouts

Some of my recent layouts I have been wanting to share. This one shows Contessa's school picture from the fall. (Sorry the scan is dark)

I found the inspiration for this layout in a magazine. I loved the Little Yellow Bicycle Red lace paper as the photo mat.

Back in October, Contessa's Girl scout troop went camping. The Girls earned their Wildlife badge and went Kayaking. I made the fun flower by cutting 4 circles with my Cricut, each 1/2 inch smaller in diameter. I crumpled each circle, smoothed it out then sanded and assembled. I used a large brad in the center. I loved how it turned out.

Two Page Layouts

Shuckin' Oysters
I used pearl brads in the centers of the flowers to go with the oyster theme. No, we did not find any pearls in our oysters.

Great Wolf Lodge
This summer we visited with old friend and new from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at the Great Wolf Lodge.

A Gift From God
Mitchelville Beach has to be one of my favorite places to walk. This beach is wonderful to enjoy all the little gifts from God.

Christmas Morning
This layout is a little hard to see when it is placed on a white background. With the white background I am able to place many colorful (busy) pictures.

Today is Groundhog's Day

Happy Birthday to my little Groundhog.

Contessa turns 14 today. I can't believe how the time has flown by!

To celebrate Contessa's Birthday, she decided she wanted her ears pierced. She had asked the girls from scouts all wekend where she should go to have it done and if it hurt?

We arrived at the Mall. She was so excited. We checked at two stores. The first store the lady looked just way too young to be able to pierce someone's ears. We walked out of the store and made our way to the Piercing Pagoda. As we selected the pair that would be the perfect first pair, you could see the nervousness on her face. The first earring went in without a problem on to the second. Whew... both ears done and it wasn't that bad! A little tender but all in all a success.

Happy 14th Birthday Contessa!

Something to share

Happy New Year to everyone.

Today Sonya and Scott joined us for our first oyster roast. Yum Yum!

We had to move the table into the sun because the shade was just too chilly! I also tried two Rachael Ray Burger recipes. Both Delicious!
A Fresh Hot batch was placed in front of Contessa. She was all smiles from ear to ear. I think she out ate everyone at the table.

We will definitely do this again!

I forgot to share this back in November....

My good friend Julie was having coffee with a gal from Pink magazine one morning. They were talking about interesting folks they know and Julie brought my name up. A few days later I received a call to see if I was interested in having an article written about myself and scrapbooking. Of course I was interested.
