The Best Day

I had the best time yesterday. I spent the day scrapbooking at Savannah Scrapbooking. It was only spoiled by having to leave early. Nothing beats spending a day with the girls laughing until you cry, giving advice on day to day trails, and creating lasting memories for your family.
I can't believe in only a few short months my favorite get away will close. For the past 9 years I have been traveling to Savannah to check out and purchase the newest scrapbooking supplies. From "Frame-Ups" to punches to eyelets to ***bling****. Each time I walk into the store a whole new world opens up. Ideas come pouring in with every turn of the aisle.A piece of paper can bring memories of a new born baby or the time the kids had the chicken pox. There has even been times when I drug those poor kids around to get the perfect picture. Come on I know all those scrapbookers out there have done the same.
So many folks can't seem to understand how one can spend 12-15 hours cropping. the time flies when your having fun. No husbands, no kids, no housework, just hours of creating and hanging with the girls. Can I say more?

Santa Was Here!

Yippeee, Santa arrived at Muddy Creek! We heard him banging around at 3 this morning. He had the puppies all wound up. We actually slept into 7 am, by 7:45 we were opening gifts. Let me tell you we were spoiled!
Mom and Dad came to spend Christmas with us, lucky us.
Contessa received the coolest electronics. An i*dog for her mp3 player(with clothing!?!) a fly pen to help her with her homework and every movie that was released this holiday season!
Winston scored with 3 games for his Playstation 2. He's begging me to play Mator National with him now, so I better type fast!
Marc was surprised to open a hedge trimmer and a chain saw. He spent the morning trimming hedges and cutting firewood. Him and Dad had a lot of fun burning all the Christmas trash.
I was really spoiled lots of goodies for my kitchen and scrapbook room. Let's see... new dishes, silverware, and a crock pot. For my scrapbook room... the Chatterbox Christmas line complete with 2 suede albums, stickers and tacks. Also a really cool embellishment center to hang on the wall to display my treasures.
I made a huge Christmas dinner. Man am I stuffed and tired! Can you believe I set my camera on the counter to take pictures and wouldn't you know it.. no pictures of the feast! Next time.

T'was The Night Before Christmas

Look what I got for Christmas....A mantel to hang our Christmas stockings. I know, we don't have a fire place but that's okay. It's the little things that make everything look and feel just right.

I love where we live! Look where we went today...
The beach!!! I love our new tradition of walking on the beach on Christmas eve. Amanda how's the weather up there? We miss you. Merry Christmas!

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house everyone was scurry like a tiny little mouse.
Football was playing on the t.v., the puppies were playing and the children were busting with excitement!
The time had come to open their Christmas Eve presents. The kids were excited, the anticipation was building, paper was flying. At once the gifts were opened...
Imagine the disappointment when all they found was new P.J.'s.
Well the stockings are hung and santa's cookies are set out. Now it's time to tuck everyone into bed for this long winter's night.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

We had our staff Christmas Party at the house Sunday night. Everyone brought a yummy dish to share. We also exchanged our gifts to one another. We had such a great time that we want to make another excuse to do it again.

For my gift exchange, I made this adorable Christmas Scrapbook for Angela. It even made her cry! It is so nice to be able to get someone a gift that they really enjoy.

Many laughs had by all.

Cookies For Santa

After two days of baking cookies, we have feasted on 8 different types of cookies. I have filled every large container in my kitchen with cookies. I still have 5 more cookie recipes to bake. With all this cookie madness it's no wonder I don't bake cookies throughout the year!

Saturday night, Marc and I, called the babysitter in and went out to a friend's Christmas party. Everyone was to bring a bottle of wine with a creative name or fancy decorations. Here is the bottle we brought.
I won the price for the best decorated bottle! I received some Christmas wine charms, just in time for our Christmas Party on Sunday.
We'll I need to get back to cleaning the house before Grey's Antatomy begins.

The days are flying by...

Since my last post I was able to finish decorating the tree, St. Nicholas stopped by to give the children their presents, and I started some Christmas shopping.

St. Nicholas Day is a holiday widely celebrated in Europe. Each year on the eve of December, 6 the children set out their shows and leave potatoes and carrots for St. Nicholas and his donkey.

The children awoke to find their shoes filled with candy, nuts and small toys!

Today I will be busy baking my annual Christmas Cookies! Yummy! I have an assortments of cookie recipes from friends and family that I have collected over the years.

Let There Be Light...

Two hours later I had all the lights on the tree and the front door aglow.

Finally the electrician came home to help, I'm sure he would have waited if he had known what I was doing.

"Put nails into the stucco?? Are you crazy?"
Of course I was up on my little ladder with my tiny Makin' Memories hammer used to set eyelets. This will work right? Uhh... NO! This is where the hubby comes in handy with his tools, tie wraps and electrical tape!

Tomorrow we will hang the ornaments.
